PROFILE JIM REDMAN
 
Born in HampsteadHeath on the 8th November 1931. Immigrated to Rhodesia in 1950 and started racing in 1955 in Rhodesia and South Africa.
Became South African champion in 1957 riding 350cc.
 
Then went over to Europe in 1958 and finished 2nd in my first race at BrandsHatch.

I started riding in 1958 with a Pegaso Sport 50cc autocycle paid for by working weekends in a local pharmacy. In 1961 I sold it to Harold Barrett who raced it in 50cc races at Kyalami and the, um sorry, Kaffirskraal tracks.

I started club-racing Sidecars in England in 1973 – Sidecars being my first passion, working my way from Club through to Nationals and finally gaining my International Racing License in 1977.
 
Was reasonably competitive on a TZ 750 Windel outfit with passenger Graham Wellington. Both of us privately entered from Wolverhampton.
